EVENT NAME: Cyber Security

DESCRIPTION: As per the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to conduct
an event in order to bring awareness about Cyber Crimes amongst students, the Welfare
Committee decided to conduct an ‘E – Poster Competition’ on the theme ‘Cyber Security’.
The main focus of the competition was to strengthen Cyber Security and take a step
towards prevention, detection, investigation and eradication of Cyber Crimes. The
Student Affairs and the Student Committee decided to conduct the Online competition
for all the students, research scholars and faculty of MAHE. Thus, the flyer to announce
the event was made and released on 08 April 2021, that mentioned the details of the
competition along with the last date of submission as 15 April 2021. As the last day of
submission was approaching, a reminder of the event was sent out on 14 April 2021.
Within the given time period of Eight days, we received a total of Twelve E-Posters. The
entries received were from students, research scholars and faculty of Manipal College of
Health Professions (MCHP), Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), and Kasturba Medical
College (KMC). The E-Posters were judged by Mr. Binny Jacob Kuriakose, who is a Cyber
Forensics Team Lead, EY, Trivandrum. Finalizing on the Judge’s decision the winners of
the competition were decided as Dr. Dattatreya Sitaram, Senior Resident from
Department of Orthopaedics, KMC and Ms. Aishwarjya Tripathy, Master in Occupational
Therapy, MCHP with First and Second prize, respectively. Finally, a poster to announce
the winners was made and released on 19 May 2021. The winners were awarded with an
E-certificate each.
