into a FT or RPT position, unless otherwise stated.
4. WHAT IF I DO NOT ENROL WITHIN 31 DAYS OF MY BENEFITS ELIGIBILITY DATE?
If you miss the deadline, you will not be enrolled into Health or Dental benefits. Your next opportunity to enrol

in our Employer-Paid Benefits.
5. WHAT IS A QUALIFYING LIFE EVENT?
If you have an event that changes the set-up of your family, that’s considered a Qualifying Life event, and
gives you the opportunity to reselect your benefits, and add or remove members covered on your plan.
If your spouse gains or loses coverage under another plan, that is also considered a Qualifying life event
along with, marriage, birth of a child, adoption, etc. See your Manulife employee portal for more information.
6. WHEN IS OPEN ENROLMENT?
AEO has an annual benefits Open Enrolment period held in November of each calendar year. Changes made
during this time are effective January 1st of the following calendar year. Some year’s Open Enrolment is passive,
where your elections roll over even if you don’t take action. Some years, when we have a lot of change, you will
experience an Active Enrolment where participation is mandatory, or your coverage will be reset to the default
Opt Out option. It is important to participate in the Open Enrolment event EVERY YEAR to make sure your
family’s changing needs are taken care of.
7. WHEN WILL MY BENEFITS END?
Your benefits end the last day of the month in which you were terminated or lost eligibility.
