DISABILITY INSURANCE
Disability insurance is a very important part of the Washington Nationals benefit program.
The disability plans are designed to provide you with a source of income in the event that you
become disabled and unable to work. Short term disability benefits are only payable when
you are unable to work because of non-work related illness or injury. All disability leaves will
run concurrent with the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or state equivalent where
applicable.
Short Term Disability:
• Fully paid for by the Company
• Benefits are 70% of your normal weekly base rate of pay up to a weekly
maximum of $3,365

• Benefits begin on the 8 day of your injury or illness
• The benefit duration is up to 90 days
Long Term Disability:
• Fully paid for by the Company
• Benefits are 60% of your normal monthly base rates of pay up to a maximum
of $12,500

• Benefits begin on the 91 day of injury or illness once your STD runs out
• The benefit duration is to age 65 or to Social Security Normal Retirement
