I- Planar chromatography
Planer Chromatography: in which the stationary phase is supported on a flat plate
or in the pores of a paper.
The mobile phase moves through the stationary phase by capillary action,
sometimes assisted by gravity or an electrical potential.
Planer chromatography falls into three forms:
It is a technique in which a sheet or strip of filter
a) paper paper serves as a stationary phase.
chromatography Usually, special papers, which are highly purified
(PC) and reproducible as to porosity and thickness, are
employed.
b) Thin-layer It is a technique in which the stationary phase
chromatography consists of a narrow layer of finally divided coated
(TLC) or uncoated particles supported on a glass plate.
c) Electrophoresis and It is a technique in which the components of the
Electro sample are separated by its migration through a
chromatography suitable phase under the influence of an electrical
(EC) field.
