• A male subject was ar- rested in the 300 block of K Street for domestic vi- olence and vehicle theft. He was later booked into the Fresno County Jail. • Officers responded to the area of Edgar and Sanger avenues for a report of a naked male subject. When officers arrived they located a male subject wearing a pair of shorts. The man explained to officers that he was covered in red ants and disrobed because he was getting bit. Officers checked the subjects clothing and confirmed they were covered in ants. A report was taken to document the incident.
• Grand theft was re- ported in the 2300 block of Sterling Avenue. The victim stated that un- known subject(s) en- tered her residence and took several items.
• A male subject was ar- rested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the 500 block of Academy Av- enue.
• A male subject was ar- rested for an outstand- ing misdemeanor war- rant in the 500 block of N Street.
• Officers responded to the 600 block of I Street for a report of a suspi- cious male subject who was talking to himself. When officers arrived they determined he was under the influence of a
controlled substance. He was arrested and trans- ported to Fresno County Jail.
Friday, October 23
There were 104 calls for service and 5 traffic citations were issued.
• A female subject was sent for a mental health evaluation in the 300 block of Oatman Avenue. • Sanger Police officers assisted parole agents in the pick-up of a wanted parolee in the 1200 block of Tucker Avenue. Dur- ing the arrest, officers located approximately five pounds of marijua- na inside the residence, along with a scale and packaging in plain view and accessible to several children in the home. Of- ficers determined that the marijuana belonged to the homeowner, who was arrested for posses- sion for sales and child endangerment. Child Protective Services placed the children in the care of family mem- bers and both subjects were later booked into the Fresno County Jail. • A male subject was sent for a mental health evaluation in the 900 block of 2nd Street.
• Officers responded to the 2100 block of Cherry Avenue for a report of a vehicle crashing into a residence. A green Jeep Wrangler report- edly drove onto the front lawn of a residence and stuck the front of the house. The vehicle then drove away from the scene northbound on Greenwood Avenue. No injuries were reported in the accident, but the ve-
hicle reportedly struck a water line, which caused the home’s kitchen area to flood.
• A male subject was ar- rested in the 1400 block of J Street for an out- standing warrant after it was reported he ap- proached another male subject in his vehicle and threatened to beat him up.
• Officers responded to the 800 block of Acad- emy Avenue for a re- port of a male subject brandishing a firearm. The victim stated that a heavyset Hispanic male subject wearing red shorts approached him and displayed a hand- gun from his waistband. The subject then fled the scene in a white full-size pickup. Officers were un- able to locate the suspect. • A male subject was ar- rested for DUI after an officer conducted a traf- fic stop in the 700 block of Rawson Avenue.
• Vandalism to a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of N Street.
• Vandalism to the front door of an apartment was reported in the 300 block of K Street.
• Officers responded to the 300 block of K Street for a report of a distur- bance. When officers ar- rived they located an in- toxicated female subject
with an injury to her face. Due to her injury, she was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. It was un- known at the time how the female was injured. An in- vestigation is ongoing.
Saturday, October 24
There were 130 calls for service and 3 traffic citations were issued.
• The driver of a vehicle was arrested for DUI af- ter a traffic stop in the 100 block of Faller Av- enue.
• Officers responded to the 1400 block of 4th Street for a report of a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, officers contacted an intoxicated and ‘belligerent male’ subject. He was arrest- ed for public intoxica- tion and a record check revealed he had an out- standing felony warrant. He was later transported to Fresno County Jail.
• Officers responded to
the 1700 block of Rawson Avenue for a report of a physical disturbance be- tween multiple subjects. When officers arrived, one of the subjects fled from officers. He was later apprehended and found to be extremely intoxicated. A record check revealed he had an outstanding warrant for a narcotics violation. He was arrested for the outstanding warrant and for public intoxication.
Sunday, October 25
There were 65 calls
for service and no traffic citations were issued.
• A male subject was placed on a 72-hour men- tal health hold after offi- cers responded to the area of Academy and Califor- nia avenues for a report of a suspicious subject.
• A subject check in the 1900 block of Jensen Av- enue led to the arrest of a wanted person.
• A vehicle burglary was reported in the 300 block of Fairbanks Ave- nue. Tools were report- edly taken from a work truck.

Elvira Juarez Hurtado “La Guera”, 92 from Parlier, Califor-
nia. She was born to Angela & Sebastian Juarez and was the last living member of that generation. To those who loved her she was Mom, Mami, and Lela.
Elvira was a devoted homemak- er who enjoyed reading, music, dancing, and friends. She was an avid reader. She loved gardening and was o en found outside tend- ing to her yard. She took pride in gardening and her love of birds.
Her Social networking for many years revolved on being an active member and o cer of three
local community organizations.
 ese resulted in lifelong relation-
ships. But what she loved the most
by far were her children and her
family in Mexico. She enjoyed
seeing all her children together on
any occasion. Her eight children
are Silvia, Grace, Virginia, Ernesto
II, Gloria, Carolyn, Richard, and
Rachel were with her as she went
to be with the Lord. Along with
her sons-in-law, she has 18 Grand-
children, 19 Great-Grandchildren,
and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. We will all miss her dearly and forever be in our hearts.

Esther Alvera Schletewitz was born June 26, 1931 and stepped into the presence of her Master on October 16, 2020
She leaves behind her husband Rev. Dr. Clayton Schletewitz of 68 years, her 3 sons, 9 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Alvera was born in Fresno,
CA to John George & Theresa (Pinnecker) Lehman. She was the oldest of four sisters.
She graduated from Central Union High School class of 1949 and married Clayton in 1952. She was a pastor’s wife in central and southern California and Port au Prince, Haiti. Upon retiring, they returned to the farm where he grew up in Sanger. Alvera loved singing, gar- dening, entertaining folks in their home, her hus- band and family, and she loved ministering to people. She left an incredible heritage of faith to her family that will be cherished for many gen- erations.
