Health and safety concerns surround- ing coronavirus have slowed the Reedley College basketball schedule to a halt. A total of six games were canceled — in- cluding a Jan. 5 con- test against West Hills College-Lemoore — and three have been rescheduled as of ear- ly this week.
The doubleheader at West Hills Lemoore has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 24 while the men’s game at West Hills Coalinga has been set for Jan. 31. No makeup date for the Jan. 12 men’s game with undefeated Columbia has been an- nounced.
The only game played last week was a non-conference wom- en’s game at Monterey Peninsula College on Jan. 3, where the La- dy Tigers came out on the short end of a 77- 72 score.
Reedley was sched- uled to host College of the Sequoias in men's and women's games on Saturday, Jan. 15, but it was announced on Jan. 10 that those games were post- poned. No makeup dates for those games were announced as of Jan. 11. Merced Col- lege is scheduled to come to Reedley for a Jan. 19 doubleheader.
Both the RC men and women take 4-10 records into the start of Central Valley Con- ference play.

The Emperors' star heavyweight wrestler, senior Javier Martinez, suffered an injury on the first day of action and forfeited his remaining three matches to place sixth in the 287 class. He improved to 22-3 before his three forfeit defeats.
Other top three fin- ishers for Dinuba were sophomore Ethan Garza (third at 108) and junior Jose Martinez (second at 197). Eleven wrestlers earned top eight medals
