  A Special Thank You To
DINUBA POLICE DEPARTMENT
I never thought it would happen in our family, but on October 25, I called my Bonus Dad (step father) at 9:15a to remind him to take his medication, only to realize that he was gone as in not home, got into his car and drove off. The worst part is he is dealing with both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, has cataracts and is hard of hearing. To top it off we were experiencing one of the worst storms to hit our Central Coast and Valley.
Throughout this ordeal, we never felt alone. Dinuba P.D. took control as soon as they had all the info. They went to bat to try to get a silver alert out early, and within an hour they had Officers and Detectives calling hospitals and talking with family and knocking on doors in the gated community where he lives. His phone was found at a Chevron in WASCO and Detectives contacted the station and learning he purchased $20 in gas. They retrieved video from the station and were able to determine the direction and approximate distance he could drive.
I must have called the PD Station every couple of hours for any info they might have. Dispatch was courteous and prompt getting my calls to the Officers to answer all my questions. They made us feel like they truly enjoyed their job and wanted to help in any way they could. After my Dad was found, they followed up with us and even delivered his phone to our home.
In this day, when so many Police Officers are getting negative publicity, it’s reassuring to me, as an average citizen in Dinuba, that I have the support and care of my local PD. These men and women deal with us through some of the worst situations we will experience in our lifetime. Thank you Dinuba Police Department for helping us through our crisis while giving us a feeling of calm and control.
Sincerely,
The Sisney Family
