Sanger Youth Council is back
City council will consider statewide ballot measures
By Dick Sheppard
Sanger Herald
Sanger hasn't had a "Youth Council" for several years. But with city council approv- al ofsixyoungapplicants,a newly formed council could be soon up and running.
That's the hope of rec- reation supervisor Joaquin Zamora, who is trying to resurrect a working and advisory youth group that folded in 2012.
The city council, at its 6 p.m. meeting today in city hall, will consider staff recommendations to support a couple of statewide ballot measures and oppose one other.
The council will be asked to support Proposition 1,
the Veterans and Afford- able Housing Bond Act, and Proposition 3, the state water bond. It will be asked to oppose Proposition 6, elimi-
nating a tax on gasoline for "Transportation Funding."
Other items on the agenda include a funding application for money from the Fresno Council of Governments that, if received, would fund walk- ing and bicycle paths, and a request to approve spending more than $33,000 for addi- tional repairs to a water well.
