Neighbors in the area of 4th and O Streets in Sanger stood back in shock the evening of May 11 as a Sanger man lay on a street corner, suffering from mul- tiple gunshot wounds while first responders made several unsuc- cessful attempts to save his life.
The man, identified May 12 as
Jairo Estrada, 30, died at the scene.
It was short-
ly after 7 p.m.,
that investiga-
tors believe the
man was likely
walking west
on 4th Street
approaching O Street when a ve- hicle drove by and fired multiple shots, striking him several times.
“From our understanding he was walking in the area, there may or may not have been a
disturbance between him and some individuals in a vehicle,” said Joshua Johnson, a sergeant with the Sanger Police Depart- ment. “We do know our suspects were in a vehicle and fled in a vehicle.”
Johnson also said the incident may be gang related and the man was known to police.
“We have some suspect infor- mation but we are not going to re- lease that right now,” Johnson said.
