                                    6 Platoon
6 Pl Prince of Wales Division are currently in Week 25 of the Combat Infantryman’s Course.
The Platoon have just returned from Live Fire Tactical Training in Warcop, and Final Exercise in Garelochhead.
Over the past six months, the Platoon have been moulded into a fine body
of men, who will
shortly be joining
their Battalions
across the Division
in England,
Northern Ireland
and Germany, with
many members of the Platoon due to deploy on operations in the next 12 months.
The Platoon has seen a good deal
of transition in the past few months, with the arrival of Capt Parkhouse, Cpl Stirton and Cpl Brookes. As well as the sometimes hectic business of training the Platoon, Cpl Buckley has found time to represent the infantry at cycling, and is the reigning Army champion on two wheels.

As this course approaches its completion, the recruits are looking forward to their pass out parade and the more relaxed period of driver training and education, not to mention some hard earned leave. The permanent staff will say goodbye to Cpl Buckley and Capt Parkhouse, and are looking forward to the challenges of the next course.
  7 Platoon
P7, or 7 Platoon Prince of Wales’ Division are currently in the Post-Course driver training phase of the Combat Infantryman’s Course. From a starting figure of 50 recruits we have seen 42 pass out! This is no mean feat, and is in part due to the tenacity and sense of teamwork within the platoon, but also due to the hard work and dedication of the Section Commanders.
Having completed a number of Tactical Exercises and Life Firing up to Platoon Level, they have all demonstrated the skills and determination required to be an Infantry Soldier.
The course has seen a number of milestones including the Week 5 Pass Off parade, a key event symbolising pride and determination. Skill At Arms training has culminated in the Rifle and LMG ACMT and LFTT, and physical development has taken on new pressures with the 6 and 7 Mile loaded marches and the AFT pushing the recruits to new levels.
The training team itself has seen change, with Captain Rice (1 MERCIAN) replacing Captain Payne who has made the bold decision of moving into civilian employment! Cpl Sumner (3 MERCIAN) will shortly
be leaving us to attend UKSF selection, and Cpl Wightman continued to astound medical science by participating in a marathon in the Swiss Alps!
