We have the right to cast off all restrictions, remove our face masks, sing boldly inside and return to a shared communion cup. But given the prevalence of the virus in our community and the concerns that many members of the church family have, I do not think it is loving
or good to exercise all our rights. Therefore we have taken the following approach throughout August and will review again early September. Masks: This is a matter of individual choice,
but I ask that out of respect for those leading services over the summer and out of love for those who have reason to remain concerned, we continue to wear masks during services.
Social distancing: This is a matter of individual judgement, but I ask that you respect the views of others and if necessary have a conversation before sitting close to someone. In Thrapston the chairs will remain spaced out at 1m+. Communion: We will continue to share communion with only the bread in the style we have adopted over recent months.
Singing: For the moment we will continue to conclude services by singing a hymn outside and we will not have congregational singing within the church during Sunday services. Refreshments at Thrapston: Post service refreshments will be served in the church building. Masks do not need to be worn during this time of socialising and those who return into the building (following conclusion of the service outside) do so on that understanding.
Tuesday Together and Saturday Coffee mornings have returned so why not pop into St James Thrapston between 10am and 12noon for a warm welcome and a hot drink.
Praise and Play will be starting again in September offering friendship and fun for all under fives and their grown ups. Check the website for up to date information.
Christianity Explored. Whether you’ve been
