Thrapston celebrates...
  In 1205, Thrapston was granted a Market Charter by King John, for the price of two palfreys. It is the only town in Northampton- shire that still holds livestock markets.

  Every year, Thrapston celebrates its market status with a Fair, and in its present form it has been in existence since 1991.
The Charter Fair usually takes place on the last Saturday in June, in the High Street, which is closed to traffic from 11am until 7pm, with the fair itself running from 2pm to 5.30pm.

This year, after a challenging time
for us all due to COVID-19, we are pleased to be able to put on our Charter Fair again for 2021 on Saturday 11th September. The Charter Fair will
be scaled down this year due to the pandemic, but that’s not going to stop
 Stalls, displays and exhibitions are located along the whole length of the street and opens with a parade starting from the Bridge Hotel.
This year we are not having the usual parade, however we are reconstructing the granting of
us having a party atmosphere as Thrapston celebrates! Businesses have suffered due to not being open for some time during the last 18 months. So, this year we are giving our support to Thrapston and the surrounding villages,
