  Airplay RAF Wyton
By Denise Barr
This term we have been participating in community and military projects. Our youth members have been very busy and have achieved a great deal. We are very proud of them.
Our amazing youth club members had revamped the Remembrance Garden, as it was looking a bit sorry for itself. They have spent many sessions weeding and digging the flower beds. Cleaning all the paths and weeding in all kinds of weather. They took allthepebblesbacktotheyouthcentreand washed them all, then repaired the artwork and placed them in hearts in the garden.
They made poppies out of clay, painted them, and placed them in the garden before the Remembrance service. They showed great determination to get the garden completed and we were very proud of their endeavours. The young people have been working towards an airplay award. We will look forward to presenting them with their award in the New Year.
The youth club managed to get in a few trips at half term which was amazing. We took 13 young people to Twin Lakes and they had a great time. For some it was their first time at a theme park. They gained in confidence, and we were proud that they pushed their boundaries to enjoy the rides!
Five of our youth club members helped at bonfire night. For those that went, you would have recognized them as the young people handing out all the goodies from the military covenant fund along with the Community Development Officer who had applied for the grant. They worked really hard, showing great customer service! After this, they could enjoy the fireworks and sparklers at the end.
The youth club members took part in the community advent calendar with our window displays, in which the young people did an amazing job. We were also asked to make a fireplace and decorations for the Community team for their Christmas craft session and all groups worked together to complete the challenge. The fireplace looked amazing, and they grew very competitive with the paper chains that were made!
December is our last month with Action for Children, In January we will be part of OneYMCA.
Hope to see you all in the New Year.
