MUSIC NIGHT AT THE PLAZA WITH THRAPSTON TOWN BAND
Friday 25th February saw Thrapston’s Mayor, Cllr Val Carter host her penultimate charity fund raiser at the Plaza. An audience of 100, including a healthy sprinkling of
The audience eagerly retook their seats for the second half ‘Proms’. The tunes, including the classics Jerusalem and Land of
Mayors from neighbouring councils, were treated to a splendid evening
of music performed by Thrapston Town Band.
A most enjoyable time was had by all
Hope & Glory, were accompanied
by much flag waving and singing
in the bunting festooned hall. The evening concluded with a majestic performance of God save our Queen. A most enjoyable time was had by all.
The first half consisted of a
selection of ‘Best of British’ tunes
ranging from the Beatles Ticket to
Ride to the Terry Wogan favourite
The Floral Dance. The interval saw the audience partake of a tipple from the bar and purchase raffle tickets. These endeavours, together with the ticket fee, resulted in a marvellous £726.98 being raised for the Mayor’s charity Northampton Domestic Abuse Service.
