The Black Deer and Charlie Rabbit 9
Many years ago, she had read an old journal that told of a black deer being a sign of death in a fairy kingdom. This fearsome dark mythical creature could transform itself into a woodland animal or bird in order to take a fairy kingdom’s jewelled crown. Without it, the fairy queen would lose her power and die.
Sophia’s death would open a window into her kingdom for a challenger to enter, take over and demonstrate a greater power.
Whenever a challenger felt that they were more deserving of a crown and kingdom, they could summon the black deer. The creature would travel great distances to find the whereabouts of a fairy queen and her crown. For every crown that was taken, the deer would be rewarded with a gold band that would prolong his life and increase his strength when placed on his antlers.
