U3A SPOTLIGHT
Activity groups: Cycling
Thrapston U3A has over 260 members;
just over half are from Thrapston and the remainder come from surrounding villages. You are very welcome to join us, we have a meeting at the Plaza on the third Friday of each month 10-12 when we have an invited speaker. We also run social activities including a summer party and Christmas event, which this year comprises of a pantomime.
Our shining light is our activity groups, which are run by members for members, and range from languages to gardening to Tai Chi and music.
This month our spotlight is on our cycling group.
It’s run by Frank and the group meets every Monday morning, weather permitting, 10 am from Sackville Street car park outside the Co-op.
The aims of the group are social interaction
and fun, to enjoy the beautiful countryside in which we live, and to promote health.
We are a relaxed social cycling group, not a racing group. Rides are on quiet roads or tracks and range from 12 to 20 miles and we enjoy a cafe stop halfway round for refreshments and good humour. Everyone is welcome, all you need is a bike, electric or manual. There is no charge for the rides.
Come along to one of our upcoming meetings at the Plaza, Friday 18th October and 15th November. Membership costs £20 per year.
If you are interested in joining our U3A, please find further details and information on all our groups on our website www.thrapstonu3a.co.uk or email Glyn on publicity1thrapstonu3a@gmail.com
