Shaved heads and parachutes? What next for Sarah Cullum?
Parachute jump for Woodgreen Animal Shelter, Godmanchester.
On 4th August 2019 I did a parachute jump to raise funds for Woodgreen Animal Shelter. I was not anxious on the day but full of excitement. With no time to think about it I was at Sibson Aerodrome at 8.15am and in the plane at 8.45am. Going up in the plane the ground was getting further away and the houses smaller, as we neared the moment of preparing to jump the feeling of excitement was overwhelming, I was dangled out of the plane strapped to my tandem pilot who was sitting on the edge of the plane. Suddenly
I am falling through the sky at 120miles
per hour, when the parachute was pulled
the speed slowed up. Too quickly we had landed.
I raised £715.00 for Woodgreen and would like to thank all those who supported me. The Shelter are very grateful as
this money will go to the well-being and
rehoming of animals.
Last year I braved the shave and raised
£1450 for Macmillan cancer care, now thinking what is next?
Fancy filling a shoebox? Lindsey and Cindy are ready.
On November 9th we will be making up our shoeboxes
in St James Church, from 10-4pm.
Due to the kind donations of people from the Community and excellent shopping with proceeds from our well supported fundraisers throughout the year and great support on our workshop days, we have lots to fill the boxes with.
We have amazing knitters who make bits for us all year.
So thank you to each and every one of you who has donated in any way – we can’t do this without you.
On the 9th we will lay out all our bits in the 3 age groups. People can then come along and make up a shoebox, putting in whatever

you feel a child would like. We only put out things we know are allowed in the shoeboxes. Once you have finished, you put an elastic band around your box and pop it into one of the big bags – to go to the main warehouse. This year we will not be checking each box, that will be done at the main warehouse. As long as
your box shuts ok, it is good to go.
All we ask is that you pay £5 shipping for
each box you do – all ITEMS are FREE.
We would like to get 400 done again as in
previous years. Please join us, it is so much fun and very child friendly.
Bring a smile to a child’s face, a child who doesn’t have a lot.
