Meadow Lane makeover
Regular users of Meadow Lane (the un-made road that gives access to the BMX Track/Skate Park and the start of the Town Walk) will be pleased to hear that the Council has agreed to give the lane a tarmacadam surface and eliminate the hazardous potholes. Work will commence in the autumn (date to be confirmed) and will take about four days. Access by vehicle will not be possible at this time and the Council apologises for any inconvenience caused. Walkers will still be able to access the Town Walk via the path behind Meadow Lane surgery that goes through the Thrapston Carr.
Further improvements to this leisure facility include the tidying and trimming
back of the hedgerows down the lane, reinstating of fences and gates and the placement of boulders at the entrance
to the BMX Track/Skate Park to prevent unauthorised vehicles accessing this area. Together with the recent installation of CCTV cameras in this area we hope to provide a safe and pleasant environment for those who wish to enjoy our countryside walks and the BMX Track/ Skate Park.
Other on-going work by the Facilities Team includes further improvements to our play areas and the refurbishment of the many benches around Thrapston including those in the cemetery.
