Centrebus has informed Northamptonshire County Council that they will cease operating the following services with effect from Monday 28th October:
• Services 8 and 18 (Corby to Kettering via Geddington and Clover Hill; Corby - Thrapston - Raunds). This operates under contract to NCC.
• Services 16/X16 (Thrapston - Kettering via Woodford and Cranford with some journeys to Raunds). This is
currently commercial
and is not subsidised
by the NCC.
Northamptonshire County Council has issued a tender for the replacement of service 8 and 18. This timetable is being revised again, with the intention of incorporating much of the current service 16/ X16 within it. Although
it is not likely to be possible to retain the current hourly service provided by service 16/ X16, Northamptonshire County Council are hopeful of being able to retain a service
that covers the key movements without any communities losing their service altogether. Northamptonshire County Council will
not be in a position
to confirm this until
the tendering process concludes in early to mid-September. Watch this space for further information.
