of navigation and mountain work in sub- par conditions.
Wednesday brought with it some warmer weather and a chance to enjoy some views from the peaks submitted by the MTB and Mountaineering groups. Climbers had a fun day belaying each other up and down the face Windmore End which overlooks the Eden Valley. Much of the day was spent predicting the football score for the even- ing’s Euro Semi Final game. A large TV was acquired to watch the match, and eve- ryone rallied round to support England to their victory that evening.
With slightly cloudy heads, Thursday was our final day out in the hills with. MTB leaders Capt Thomson, Sgt Buck and Tpr Norman made the most of the calm weather and brought together their groups to make for a full day of exciting riding which saw plenty of both-wheels-off-the-

floor action for those who were confident enough. Grizedale Forest was a steep learn- ing curve for the less experienced cyclists but everyone was smiling, at least once anyway. Climbing and mountaineering groups all made excellent progress as they gained experience and built confidence meaning more time was spent enjoying the outdoors and developing teamwork and courage.
Feedback from all participants and instruc- tors was positive at every stage through the week. The Cpls and LCpls nominated as group ICs helped the week run smoothly meaning the instructors could focus on giving participants the best experience possible. Several members of B Squadron have now applied for individual AT courses through the ATGA online system, and I would encourage everyone to take advantage of this great scheme.
