 Athletics
On Wed 20th April, 11 SP from QDG entered the UK Midlands Athletics Competition. The main body of the Regt was in Cardiff so with only ROG SP to pick from the odds were against us. Upon arrival to the Birmingham Athletics Stadium, it was then we realised that some teams had up to 32 SP in their squad meaning they had flexibility to do just 1 event each.
Some members of the QDG squad had to enter 4 events each just to ensure that we participated in every event to score as many points as possible. We managed to get many top 4 finishes and held our own against those massive squads.
Thanks to SP from QDG entering numerous events and not being phased by the competition, as a team we managed to secure 2nd place, slightly missing out on the title to 2 Royal Anglian.
