got on the number seventeen bus. I hopped on as it was leaving. Later, she pressed the bell for a stop. Four of us got off the bus outside the Bay Park Apartments. Two people walked away and she went through the front car park and gardens to the back of the building. I was busy snapping her when she turned around and said, “Are you following me?” I laughed and said, “In your dreams, lady!” and I strolled past her when she reached a wooden gate at the back of the apartments. She went inside and I went back to catch the next bus into town.’
‘Thank you, Sophie. I appreciate you doing this for us. I won’t forget. In fact, why don’t the four of you come here for a bite to eat next Saturday? Have a word with Olivia, and I’ll contact Cara and Elise.’
Alice then made a phone call to her friend, Marjorie. ‘Can we meet for lunch next week? I have something that might interest you.’

Marjorie sat at a bay window seat and stood when Alice entered the restaurant. ‘Whenever we came to the Regency
for dinner, the four of us always sat at this table. Do you remember?’
‘How could I forget? Robin loved it here. I think he enjoyed the pampering and after all, this was the in place for local businesses. How are you, Marjorie? Is hubby still running you ragged?’ jested Alice, kissing her friend on the cheek.
‘I doubt he will ever retire, Alice. He’d be bored to death. Shall we order first?’
