I doubt she will have the opportunity to see Jake in the foreseeable future. I believe the police are waiting to speak to her. I must go now. Thank you for coming to talk to me. I’ll see you both in the morning,’ he said, smiling at his hosts.
Stuart got up. ‘I’ll walk you to the door, Alan. Are you sure you want to walk to the hotel?’
‘Well done, girls,’ grinned Marjorie. ‘Wow! What a tough call. I am proud of you both. Let’s have a glass of wine and then I can hear all about your crazy escape to France, Alice.’
