the Lodge to interview her. Volunteers from the Foundation found her on Mr Bannister’s land attempting to break into a cabin. She became abusive towards them and lashed out in anger. She eventually gave up and accompanied them to a car. The situation could have been far worse, especially if they’d sought assistance from the police. Mrs Cooper could have easily spent the night locked up in a cell until she calmed down.
‘Today, police officers visited her at Shatford Lodge. She told them her sister had thrown her out of the apartment so she went to the cabin to look for her son, Jake. She claimed he’d lived there since January. They requested proof of identity and she tossed a plastic carrier bag at them.
‘This is where things change. The officer removed a notebook and inside he found a list of ideas and tasks she might have intended to carry out. Had I not reported seeing the woman in Heath Road and the presence of Jake Cooper in the town, the police would have handed back the notebook and dismissed Mrs Cooper’s projects as the fanciful nonsense of an eccentric. But she was far from that. The pages contained threatening intentions towards our family. She planned to break into our homes and create mayhem. She also intended for her sister to lose her job and home. The list is endless and police have taken it as a serious attempt to cause harm and malicious damage.
‘Alice, you were right. You warned me she was here for a reason. Reading between the lines, it comes down to revenge.’
