Chapter Eight
From her cardigan pocket, Marissa Collins pulled out a creased yellow Post-it note with a hastily scribbled message: Simon. This is my address. 28 Sunbury Avenue – Cara Maitland. She sat at the dining table staring out of the window at the bay, still unable to believe her luck. She’d found it yesterday morning, after Louisa had left strict instructions for her to check the pockets of her suits, skirts, and jackets before placing them in a special linen bag for the dry-cleaning man to collect. Ordinarily, she gloated, the name wouldn’t mean a thing to me. But add Rauston Quay and I have everything. She could be Kay Maitland’s daughter, Cara. How many times did I hear that name? Find one, and I’ll find her cousin.
