she came to winning has proved frustrating and emotional. Anna had always used tness as a way of staying healthy but these games have brought out the competitor in her and I am waiting with anticipation to see how these new emotions can drive her future like they did in her past.
Sport, when used in recovery, is awesome, it provides a sense of purpose, belonging, determination, motivation and belief to name but a few. We all hold the key to unlock so much potential in individuals and encourage their efforts regardless of performance. Knowing that someone has given their everything in the pursuit of team excellence is commendable and is beyond reproach. We must now take the time to spread the word and encourage others,

to challenge and defy their limitations (and we all have some) through training and competing to provide a meaningful focus in their lives which will enable them to work towards their goals no matter how small and as a result, improve their sense of worth and belonging.
Anna was chosen to be one of the faces of last year’s Poppy Appeal for The Royal British Legion, in light of what achievements she has made in the face of adversity. This was the most ful lling challenge she has completed to date and thoroughly enjoys the proud role of being one the charities’ bene ciaries. Anna delivers her story now on stage in front of hundreds with a small hope to inspire someone to try something new.
The RAPTC Champs took place in Oct 16 at Long Valley South military training area. The event comprised of a 1 hour Score event over challenging terrain and technical map reading was required on the demanding course. Although not all the Corps runners were available to compete, this provided the opportunity for less experienced personnel to challenge for honours. WO1 Carl Bennett edged out SSgt Kieran Boyd into third place after picking up penalty points. It proved to be close for claiming the top position with SSgt Mark Beverley narrowly beating Maj Steve Collinson.
The Army Inter Corps Championships took place at the Quantock Hills near Bridgwater for the Day and Night event on 26/27 Nov
16. Unfortunately, not all of our Corps personnel were able to participate; therefore a decision was made to enter the Men’s Senior Short category. The competition was strong with nearly all the Corps entering teams. The terrain was very steep in places with challenging navigational routes.
Following previous success in the Senior Short competition we went into the race with a good chance of nishing in the top 3. In the end the RAPTC team nished in 5th place out of 11 teams that entered.
