relationships throughout the team. The main focus of the tour was football and preparing the team for the 2017/18 season.
The opposition for the rst two matches were local football clubs based in the Phuket area, whereas the nal match pitched the
RAPTC FC against a number of ex-serving soldiers and local Thai footballers. The facilities provided at the Thanyapura Health and Wellbeing Resort were rst class; excellent pitches and changing areas maximized the output. From the pre-match meal to the post match recovery, no stone was left unturned.

It has long been tradition in the RAPTC that combat sports have been a major feature of our prestigious history. All sport is fundamental to morale, engendering competitive spirit
and teamwork whilst underpinning a whole myriad of qualities associated with the demands of being a member of the RAPTC, from the ‘newly badged’ Sgt Instructor to our most seasoned Of cer. In spite of the current commitments and current operational tempo, enthusiasm for sport and all that comes with this remains as healthy as ever.
Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling (ground ghting). The roots can be found in Kodokan judo ground ghting, known as ‘newaza’. BJJ eventually came to be its own art through the experiments, practices, and adaptation by Carlos and Helio Gracie who passed their knowledge on to their extended family, Gracie Barra – they are now the most successful BJJ academies in the world with multiple world and European Champions.
Gracie Barra is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association, with over 500 schools on six continents. The very rst Gracie Barra School was rst founded in the neighbourhood of Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro in 1986. Over the years, it has turned Gracie

BJJ promotes that a person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, heavier assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the ght to the ground, and then, applying joint-locks and choke-holds to defeat the opponent. The
