At the end of the 15/16 season the RAPTC FC fended off a strong AGC side in the Massey League play-off, winning 2-0 and securing another season in the top Division of inter Corps football. As always this league is extremely tough and despite some really strong and positive performances, we still nd ourselves battling to stay in this league as I write this article. A nal game against the Royal Signals will determine our fate; but we remain positive and well prepared.
On behalf of the club it’s a pleasure to welcome back Capt (MAA) Lee Davison as our new Chairman. Lee has been involved with Corps football for over 12 years in a number of roles, both playing and part of the management team – nobody can question his turn of foot over a 50-yard dash! His passion for the club is second to none and we will certainly bene t from his involvement.
In addition to this, WO1 (SMI) Kev Haley took over the position of club (player J) Manager. Kev has played competitively for both the Army and UK Armed Forces for 19 Years. He has a wealth of knowledge about the game and we are growing in strength under his direction.
The club is in a great place, the infrastructure, the players (present and pending) and the passion from everyone involved makes for an excellent squad of players who epitomise what it means to be a sportsmen and Corps instructor. The future for Corps football and all those involved is exciting.
In true RAPTC FC style, we round off the season with an over-seas sports visit of Thailand – no biggy!

The RAPTC toured Thailand over the period 26 Apr – 11 May 17. 22 players (including management team) played three competitive xtures, conducted six training sessions, delivered three coaching clinics and took part in numerous cultural visits (including an elephant safari).
All matches and training sessions took place at the Thanyapura Health and Wellbeing Resort in Phuket with the coaching clinics
being delivered at local schools and orphanages. The RAPTC FC won all three matches quite convincingly with 27 goals scored and just two conceded.
The tour gave the manager (WO1 (SMI) Haley) an opportunity to focus on setting the team up in a formation and system that will give them an identity, and allow them to play in a way that improves the technical ability of each player whilst building good
