new member to the RAPTC cycling team I wanted to establish my position in the team ready for the ICRRC. During Day 5 I saw my opportunity to show my ability to a well formed team and justify my place by making an attack which lasted 12km off the front of the main peloton. Sgt (SI) Kevin Richardson joined me with 4km to go but getting hammered by the sea winds we got reined back in but I was happy I had shown I was willing to put the work in when
it mattered. Not realising we still had 60+ miles to go; I was in a bad place on the home stretch!
I had learnt a great deal while in Cyprus and was keen to put this knowledge and experience into practice at the ICRRC. Come race day saw me with a puncture with 3 laps to go, catch the bunch (in the RED) and position 11th overall and 1st RAPTCI. This gave
