The North East Branch of the Association held its Annual Reunion during the weekend of 7th/8th April 2017. Once again we met at the Palm Court Hotel in Scarborough. Friday started off with the Branches Golf competition organised by Trevor Bayes, and for the second year running was won by Dickie Parker. The Friday evening saw 57 members gather in the hotel’s lounge for early drinks followed by a buffet in the main dining area where the tales of old were told until the early hours.
The weekend was a huge success as usual, only on this occasion was made extra special by the 28° temperature that was with us for the whole weekend, it was perfect. Saturday saw the committee move into full swing to decorate the dining room for the evening function, him and him known as Dave and Dave (Warburton and Smith) were tweaking every little detail to ensure a great night was had by all and we did! 86 sat down to dinner and I had the honour of welcoming for the rst time to our Branch dinner, our new Senior Master Lt Col Tom Scarr. For the rst time we also had the male members wear dinner suits if they wished. With the ladies looking splendid as usual and the array of different coloured bow ties the room looked magni cent and would have made any mess

president very proud. Many stayed until the small hours telling their tales from their tours of the four corners of the world!
With the Corps ag ying high from the hotel’s roof top, the temperature still in the high twenties, many stayed for a quiet Sunday on the beach front and re ected on what was another very successful North East Reunion.

2017 GOLF COMPETITION.

On Friday 7th April 2017 Trevor Bayes, once again, organised the Annual RAPTC Association North East Branch Golf Tournament at the North Cliff Golf Club in Scarborough.
The weather was ne and the following members took part: Trevor Bayes, Richard Parker, John Jennings, Chip Rafferty, Tom Mulligan, Brian Pyle and Steve Higgins.
The results are as follows:
Winner: Richard Parker (35 stableford points); Second: Tom Mulligan (34 stableford points); Nearest the pin: John Jennings;
Longest drive: Tom Mulligan.
