The unit received various dignitary visits that left with an impressive view of the regimental ethos and achievements. The legend that is 12X WO1 (SMI) Tony Richardson MBE RAPTC wasted no time to visit Cyprus. He assured me the visit was for ‘physical development/work’ purposes and nothing to do with the soaring heat. The visit provided two things, a platform to procure an essential PTE uplift (resulting in a £40,000 procurement) and free brews from the SMI. Everyone’s a WINNER!
I’m not much of the ceremonial type, however the opportunity arose to be part of the Lance Guard at the Anzac Parade 25th April 2018. Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all who served, sustained injuries, or gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The RAC sports week Exercise Hodson’s Horse commenced in Bovington 26-29 November 18. The Royal Lancers finished runner up in the overall competition. A fantastic week away from MODNET enjoyed by all to play sport! The training year concluded with a PNCO course in Otterburn. God’s playground!
