  42 ENGINEER REGIMENT (GEOGRAPHIC)
SSgt (SSI) DJ Hunt RAPTC
Having not long arrived from Cyprus at 42 Engr Regt (Geo) the past several months main effort has been evaluating the Regiment and finding my feet in the UK. All impressions
have been positive, an intelligent bunch with a good attitude towards physical development, sport and AT. The Regiment is stationed at RAF Wyton, which has a well-equipped gym, this has helped the implementation of APTS and fortunately for the new RAPTCI, it has been well received.
Christmas is always a good chance to get together in some fancy dress and do a fun but challenging workout. Along with my PT
3 PARA putting a shift in on the rower
staff we raided the gym and put on a large-scale session within an empty hanger, who said Christmas PT had to be a gift.
British Army Warrior Fitness (BAWF) is a passion of mine and thankfully for me, 42 hadn’t heard of it until my arrival, I now have quite the following with weekly BAWF training and 3 teams entered the league. Currently the male and female team have high prospects of qualify for the finals later this year. I have had the privilege to host event 2 of the UK Midlands BAWF league, which saw the biggest turn out for a Midlands event. The male team for 42 came 2nd and more impressively the Ladies won their category, well-done girls, all that training paid off!
