HEADQUARTERS LAND WARFARE CENTRE (HQ LWC)
Maj (MAA) A Barnett RAPTC
Work at LWC continues to develop at pace with many Requests for Information (RFI) coming in daily; dealing with PES and its implication across the regular and reserve community; driving PD audits; securing finances to ensure correct PTE for our Op Gps and attending a myriad of meetings that never seem to be near Warminster. The Master Driver and I, thankfully, have a very good relationship as that little black box on the windscreen doesn’t like me!
1 Apr is FOC for LWC and it has been a very busy year ensuring the HQ meets this deadline; more importantly, the message that LWC is very much open for business and is already regarded the “engine” for change in the Fd Army. I am sure this will continue to develop and foresee HQ LWC as a major player in future years; which provides an excellent opportunity for the Corps to develop its PD influence across the AOR.
However, it’s important to maintain group cohesion between the military and civilian staff and this is achieved with varied group activities and Thurs morning PT for all.
I have been very fortunate to work with some excellent RAPTCIs and the current crop within LWC Op Gp units are no exception. They continue to prepare our soldiers for the future in many difficult environs competing with contractors delivering trade training. Like most RAPTCIs they work tirelessly behind the scenes ensuring the CoC are compliant and legal whilst delivering PT to those most vulnerable. Well done all.
Finally, as my last MBS notes, I would like to thank all past and present RAPTCIs for your support and memories. There is no doubt that the Army, and more importantly the RAPTC has developed the boy from Merthyr into a rounded individual. I wish you all the very best for the future.
