PULSE SUPPORTS MOD TO OFFER INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE FITNESS SOLUTIONS
Pulse has been working in the tness industry for over 35 years, and during the last four decades the organisation has worked with a wide variety of different customers to
offer bespoke health and tness solutions to suit every need. Their dedicated in-house teams are able to provide an expansive portfolio of services ranging from designing a tness facility through to the installation and service of the equipment.
In April 2013 Pulse were awarded a four-year contract as the of cial supplier to the Armed Forces. Just one year later they were appointed as the exclusive supplier of leased tness equipment to the Royal Air Force for the next four years. Since then, Pulse has supplied over £6m worth of equipment to military bases in the Ascension Islands, Germany, the Falkland Islands and the UK. Installations include RAF Marham, MOD AbbeyWood, HMS Dauntless, Colchester Garrison and even the prestigious Royal Guards room at Buckingham Palace.
With an award winning equipment range which incorporates cardio, resistance, functional kit, free weights and plate loaded, Pulse were the obvious choice for durable, functional and customisable kit. They are also the leading supplier of IFI accredited equipment meaning all kit meets IFI Equipment Design Standards to be fully inclusive, enabling both disabled and non- disabled people to bene t from a full body, cardiovascular and resistance-based workout.
The equipment is ideal for people recovering from injury or with physical limitations and in March 2015 they were chosen to supply and install £300k worth of tness equipment in the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court. Pulse was awarded the contract based on the quality of its equipment
and value for money, as well as its ability to make adjustments to kit to suit requirements. The installation is part of a four-year contract that will also see Pulse transfer the kit to the new, £300 million Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre at Stanford Hall, near Loughborough, which is due for completion in 2018. Approximately 150 stations of Pulse’s IFI stage 2 accredited tness equipment has been installed to help the rehabilitation of injured service personnel. Pulse’s in-house research and development team has also worked with the Defence Rehabilitation Centre to modify several pieces of equipment to make them more suitable for the tness needs of injured servicemen and women.
Most recently Pulse has completed a total transformation of the gym at Colchester Garrison to create a state-of-the-art facility. Pulse were awarded the £200K contract in June this year to create an elite strength and conditioning gym. Pulse worked closely with the MOD to create and develop a bespoke functional training rig that weighs approx. 4 tonnes. Other equipment provided by Pulse during this project included Olympic lifting platforms, sleds, squat racks and free weights.
All military contracts are handled through a dedicated team of specialists whom solely manage all Government Services and Performance Sport contracts.
“As a British company, we are proud to be supporting British Troops,” said Ben Steadman, Key Account Manager for Government Services at Pulse. “Our equipment range is of the highest quality and durability and one of the most cost effective in the world. This combined with our ability to modify equipment to meet the enhanced needs of the armed forces, makes us the ideal supplier for the MoD.”
