Barracks NATO Of cers’ Mess. The Inspecting Of cer and Guest of Honor was Lieutenant General J Bashall CBE - Colonel Commandant of the RAPTC. This was an historic event for the RAPTC and the details and photos are recorded elsewhere in the Journal.
RAPTC Commemorative Service. The rst Commemorative service to be held at the RAPTC Memorial since it was dedicated in 2013 was held on 12 September 2015 with ninety eight serving and retired members attending. Torrential rain threatened to spoil the day but the decision to delay the start resulted in the Service being conducted under a cloudy but dry sky and we also had a Spit re y overhead during the service which was quite tting (not sure who organised it but it was very kind of them). The Trustees felt the event was a great success and have decided to hold a Commemorative Service at the RAPTC Memorial in Sep 2017.
RAPTC History Book. An of cial record of the Corps history is long overdue and the Association Trustees have commissioned Osprey Publishing to produce an of cial sanctioned history book of the Corps covering the period from 1860 to the closing of the ASPT (G) in 2015. The Author of the book is Nikolai Bogdanovic who will be working closely with an RAPTC Project team at every stage of the process. It is hoped to distribute the nished book in November 2017 just in time for Christmas.
The working life of the Regimental Secretary covers many aspects of regimental life and can at times be quite diverse so the following photos will, I hope give you a avour of life as a Regimental Secretary.

This year the Association Dinner had to change venues due to the previous venue being sold off from the Lion Group. A quick recce saw us going over the road to the Lion Groups other hotel, “The Mansion”, which was not as good as the Chatsworth, but in the negotiation we found out that the owner had sold the Chatsworth and bought Eastbourne Pier! We were offered the function suite at the end of the pier overlooking the sea for our dinner. On viewing we decided it was more than suitable and looked fantastic.
Numbers were down this year with some of our regulars missing due to the change of date. Some of our members like to come down a day earlier and were treated to an ABBA tribute band playing at the

bandstand just across the road from the hotel, and the view from the hotel rooms was fantastic. The Bandstand is one of the busiest in the UK.
