operational and strategic surroundings, additionally it provides extended opportunities for 1 RSME Regt staff to develop and enhance their instructional capability away from the workshops and in a less formal environment.
The Regt have also been in numerous community engagements arranged events such as Armed Forces Day which is a large event held on “Great Lines” which the citizens of Medway (10,000 people normally attend) are all invited to. This is a great event and gives the Engineers a

chance to showcase the general public what they are all about in a relaxed and informal environment.
The calendar year nished with the traditional fancy dress Turkey Trot, an event that involved all Chatham Station personnel upto 1000 personnel including the Commandant. This year the Commanding Of cer volunteered to dress up as the turkey and fortunately for him although close was not caught (he had a big lead and did take a few short cuts along the way).
It is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to 1 RSME Regt, I have truly enjoyed all aspects of working with both the Regt and the Royal Engineers as a whole. A fantastic bunch of people and probably the second most organised and hardworking Corps in the British Army.
Good Luck Tony I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I have........................

Boasting punchy chalk hills and rolling down land Blandford Camp seemed the ideal location for Mr Keith Donkin, Athletics Secretary at the ASCB to hold the 2015 round of the Inter Services Cross Country Championships.
