Teams from the Army, Navy and RAF converged at Blandford to race, all with high expectations to win the Inter Services Championship. The previous week had been exceptionally wet adding an additional pressure for both hosts and runners, increasing the dif culty of the route. BFBS and Forces TV covered the event which was contested over four races; senior male, female, veterans and juniors races. The Army had the best day, winning three out of four races.

Championships 24-25 Jun 15
Steeped in history the 2015 Morrison Cup is a two-day athletics competition, this year bringing together ten Royal Signals major units male teams, nine women’s teams and three minor unit teams. This year, as always, was very competitive with all units pulling out their top athletes to compete against the best in the Corps.
The Athletics competition was supported by RAPTCIs and Of cials from the local Wimborne Athletics Club, ensuring some of the more technical disciplines could go ahead. In 2014, 11th Signal Regiment had been dominant winning both the male and female team trophies. 2015 proved to be almost as fruitful, with the male team lifting the trophy for a second year. The ladies of 11th Signal Regiment narrowly missed, out earning a graceful second place to 3rd Signal Regiment. The winners of the minor unit trophy being 216 (Para) Signal Squadron.

Inter Squadron Boxing Competition 12 Nov 15
The start of September saw a hundred potential boxers commence their training in preparation for the Regimental Boxing night. As the training intensi ed and early mornings increased, the boxer’s numbers decreased. With the boxing cancelled the previous year due to a virus, we were keen to ensure this year went ahead.
The event was contested between 2 Squadron in the red corner and 3 Squadron in the blue, with a nal trained Soldiers bout at the end of the night. Four bouts in, the blue corner had taken three out of four wins, a good time for refreshments before the nal four bouts. 3 Sqn remained consistent in the second half of the night and took wins in the next three bouts. The nal bout was between Cpl Gooding, of the White Helmets in red, and Lt Punter, Troop Commander in blue. Both boxers fought hard until the bitter end, neither wanting to give the bout away. The nal bout went to Lt Punter in the blue corner, a win for the Of cers Mess
