4.3. Adding Assets

Adding assets is a more complicated process; organizations and plants are purely
providing database structure, whereas assets have more detailed information. The
information that is part of the asset will help you to keep track of the asset, help configure
continuous monitors properly and provide additional information for analysis reports.
To add an asset to the database:

• Select the node that the asset will be a part of in the database. This can be either
an organization node or a plant node.

• Press the ‘New Machine’ button on the ribbon or right-click on the node and select
‘Add Asset’ in the context menu. This will bring up the asset properties over multiple
pages (refer to Sections 4.3.1 through to 4.3.6 for details on the various asset
properties).
