6.2.1. Database Setup
If there isn’t already an IID database for storing measurement results, one needs to be
created. Once the database is created, add organizations and plants as needed; the structure
can be as simple or as complicated as desired; once the structure is completed, add an asset
for linking to the monitor.

NOTE:
Even if IAM won’t be used to store measurement data (SM levels will be
tracked through Modbus, for example) an IID database will still be required
to configure the GuardII+.
NOTE:
If adding an SM card to an existing GuardII+, a new asset is not required
in IAM; check to see if the asset already has the required ratings as
described in Section 6.2.2 and then add SM sensors to the asset as
described in Section 6.2.3.
6.2.2. Asset Setup
Once the asset is created in the database, filling in the details about the asset will provide
necessary information for a more complete data analysis.
NOTE:
On each page of the Asset Editor, information icons are shown for
properties that are required for one or more monitoring technologies.
Hovering the mouse pointer over the icon will show when the information
is required.
Shaft monitoring does not require any specific Asset setting.
