Towards Better Compaction

               Conveyor belts

Conveyors have moving parts and potential pinch points (any point where it is possible to get part of
your body trapped between moving parts of the conveyor belt). When working around or near
               conveyors (or any pinch points):
                   • Know the location of the emergency stop buttons and emergency pull wires
                   • Keep the surrounding areas clean and tidy to eliminate tripping, slipping or falling
                   • Isolate and tag out conveyors before carrying out maintenance work
                   • Wear appropriate clothing (beware of loose clothing and long hair)
                   • Ensure that guards and fences are in place
                   • Do not attempt to remove jams from moving conveyors
                   • Never ride on a moving conveyor
