The Role of Psychological Testing in Personnel Recruitment


            · Psychological Assessment is used in succession/ planning, employee screening,  pre-employment
                 decisions and employee counselling situations.
            · It enables  the company to know more about the people they want to hire, promote, coach or counsel.

            · Psychological testing is no longer positioned as a separate step in hiring process. They are often
                  combined with interview in the final assessment phase.

            From an organizational perspective

            · Psychological profiles/assessments focus on company training and development where they can be

                 most effective.

            From a financial view
            · Psychological tests can prevent a company in making one bad hire, it probably saves the company’s

                 money.

            · The bottom line is, psychological test give important insights about the people to be HIRED. They help
                 make better decisions.


                                         Some tips for Examinees during Testing
                   1. PRAY
                   2. Take note of test schedule-time and place, examiner.
                   3. Be physically prepared.
                   4. Be equipped with basic necessities.
                   5. Be punctual
                   6. Dress Appropriately
                   7. Follow instructions at all times

                   8. Keep track of what you are answering.
                   9. Allocate your time (for tests are timed)
                   10. Concentrate on what you are reading and doing
                   11. Be honest in answering

                   12. Don’t panic if you cannot answer some items
                   13. Do not copy from your seatmate
                   14. Be polite
                   15. Take note of schedules for further testing or interview.
