Bringing the Concept to Life

When the current storm surrounding the Organization's fiscal and
budgetary crises subsides, it is my hope that Geneva International will weather
it well and that the current review process will serve to rejuvenate the UN and
the activities we undertake. Our work in Geneva - mainly in the field of
promotion of human rights, economic development, disaster relief,
disarmament and health and physical well-being, to name but а few examples -
effects Governments and peoples throughout the world.

Undertakings like this one, as well as ongoing projects such as the Maison
Universelle, the Maison des droits de l'homme, and the renovation of the Palais
Wilson - to name but а few examples - exemplify that Geneva International
enjoys the strong support of the host country, Switzerland. Furthermore, I wish
to take this opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of other foundations and
organizations that work toward making international staff in Geneva feel at
home: the United Nations welcomes аll efforts toward this end.

I remain confident and optimistic that with such support we - working
together - will ensure that Geneva continues to bе the vital centre for
peace­building know-how and expertise that makes this city unique in
the world.
