UNECE is an unpolished pearl
according to Christian Friis Bach, who was appointed as Executive Secretary in July 2014.
For almost seventy years this organization has been struggling to make life easier for most of us
through the adoption of its different conventions and standards. Did you know that the experts sitting
in the UNECE have been involved in standards regarding air pollution, transport, car safety and road
signs? Neither did we until we were lucky enough to meet Mr Friis Bach, who is determined to make
us all understand that without UNECE life would be rather more complicated
