TRIBUTE TO JEAN BROGGINI

                     Served as a General Service official of ILO from 1956 to 1987 (early retirement), where
                     she ended her career as administrative assistant in the Workers' Relations Branch.  Has
                     rendered occasional services to AAFI-AFICS and worked as assistant to the Secretary of
                     FAFICS over the last four years.  Co-opted member of the AAFI-AFICS Committee since
                     January 1993.

                     The FAFICS Secretariat is co-located with AAFI-AFICS at the Palais des Nations, where
                     our fellow Committee member, Jean Broggini has been working as Secretary/Treasurer
                     since  1996.  She  has  recently  resigned  from  these  functions.  Anders  Tholle  will  act  as
                     Secretary,  with  the  support  of  the  AAFIAFICS  Secretariat,  and  Juan  Mateu  is  the  new
                     FAFICS Treasurer.

                     It is with deep regret that I have to report the passing away of Ms. Jean Broggini, former
                           FAFICS Secretary-Treasurer.
                     Ms. Broggini has been working in that position since 1996 until 2002.

                     When informed of her demise, Mr. George Saddler, former FAFICS President, wrote: ‘…
                           as  the  Secretary  of  FAFICS  Jean  was  very  agreeable,  competent,  dedicated,
                           friendly,  intelligent,  knowledgeable,  loyal  and  willing  to  work  as  required.  FAFICS
                           benefited from her efforts and labors. May she rest tranquilly in peace.’

               I provided technical assistance to the FAFICS Secretariat in 2000-2002.  It was during
               this period that Jean initiated the FAFICS database which contained contact information
               for the FAFICS member associations.
               Jean was a Member of the AAFI-AFICS Committee from 1993 until 2004.

               In the memorial service, Carlo Lamprecht (Conseiller d'État du canton de Genève 1997-
               2005 and Président du Conseil d'État du canton de Genève 2000-2001) referred to her
               service to FAFICS.
