IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR MEMBERS

Important message to our members

Year 2024 saw many events organised by AFICS, and this means by its Committee and
Secretariat.

And that is :

1. 2 lunches at the Restaurant « Les Lauriers »: 9 April and 22 October

2. General Assembly, attended by 78 people: 14 May

3. Seminar for the Pension Fund, which was informative and helped setting up the
DCE (Digital Certificate of Entitlement): 27 June

4. The "Planning Ahead" seminar (see article on page YY) on 30 September at the
CICG.
5. We were also able to be present online for the first virtual Pre-retirement Seminar
organised by UNHCR on 31 May. However, it is disappointing to note that UNOG
will not be participating to the ILO Pre-retirement Seminar this year.

6. We have also been very active at the city of Geneva level.

7. Finally, our Bulletin can now be printed in colour, and this makes it more attractive.

Year 2025 will be just as busy.

Two dates are already set for the Restaurant « Les Lauriers » : 13 May and 21 October.

Combining our General Assembly meeting with the celebration of the 70 Anniversary of
our association is being considered and, perhaps - if this can be organised – with a meal
at the end of the meeting (date not yet scheduled).

We will, of course, participate to the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of FAFICS, the
worldwide Federation of pensioners' associations which is our representative to the
meetings of the Pension Fund (Joint Committee and other committees). Let's recall that
AFICS is one of its founding members.

We hope to be involved in the 80th Anniversary celebration of the UN.

We are also hoping to extend our office hours. And, of course, to continue participating to
events in Geneva and the Greater Geneva area.

As you can see, all these activities require time and "hands". We have been
operational with only 12 people in 2024, and this is why we need absolutely to
strengthen our Committee so that it may continue to provide you with support,
presence and activities.

It is your Association, so please help us expand the Committee.
