It was a first, organized masterfully by Pierre Vangeleyn. Everyone could not be there of
course, but the presents kept an excellent memory of this escapade.

Health insurance UNSMIS

This is good news for civil servants, pensioners and their families from ITU who as of 1
January will join UNSMIS, one of the insurances, together with CAPS (ILO) and SHIF
(WHO), which are independently self-managed by commercial insurance. This will also
reduce the weight of commercial insurances among the Geneva organizations.

On January 1 Ms. Rosemarie McClean will be the new Executive Secretary of our
Pension Fund. The position of Deputy Secretary is however still vacant.

For the moment we cannot give more information concerning the meeting of the Joint
Committee due to the confidentiality of the report before its presentation to the United
Nations bodies (5th Committee and General Assembly).

Our database

We had contacted more than 1500 members who did not have an email address in our
database. We thank our members for responding to our request by giving us their
address when they had one. We understand that some of you are not connected to
computers and want to reassure them. We will continue to publish the Bulletin in paper
form.
