IN CONVO
WITH JOURNO
I have come to note, with a great degree of admiration,
that the so-called “Old Media” are still quite prominent in
New Zealand in the midst of the current Information Age.
Growing up many decades ago when television and
newspapers were the source of ‘viral’ news, to still be able
to rely on them for news during my time in Wellington has
been uniquely memorable.
For some reason, interacting with the media and members
of the press has been something I have grown
accustomed to and to a large part, very much enjoyed. The
exchange of ideas to enrich perspectives in the hope to
gain a thorough outlook on certain affairs is perhaps the
vision that I had in mind by interacting with the media. Not
to mention, of course, as the fourth pillar of democracy,
the media needs to be engaged to nurture and ensure a
balance of views in a democratic environment.
