beg* expect* order urge
cause forbid pay* want*
challenge force permit warn
choose* get persuade would like*
command help** remind
*These verbs can be either with or without an object. (I want [you] to go.)
**After help, to is often omitted. (He helped me move.)
Verb + Infinitive or Gerund
I love to swim.
I love swimming.
begin continue love
(not) bother hate prefer
can’t stand like start
