                           PRONUNcIATION        Nouns: -s and -es Endings
                            Many plural nouns and possessives end in -s or -es. The endings have
                            one of three sounds: /U/, /\/, or /"\/.
                            1. Pronounce -s as /U/ after the consonant   shop’s, tests, beliefs,

                              sounds /H/, /M/, /R/, /V/, and /6/.
                            2. Pronounce -s as /\/ after the consonant   logs, jobs, head’s,
                              sounds /D/, /F/, /I/, /N/, /O/, /P/, /0/,   songs, wives, day’s
                              /T/, /X/, or any vowel sound.
                            3. Pronounce -es as /"\/ after /U/, /\/,    kisses, diseases, wishes,
