Above: Ian Levitt's MGB was a group
winner. The car is an excellent reminder Above: Gary Suttles has reason to be proud
that a small car, well-appointed , is also a of his restored, 105 hp, 1972 Triumph out- of-
comfortable touring car. Texas. He's also happy to share an inside
joke with a "Smell the Oil" sign and a vintage
Sinclair Dino oil dispenser prominently
displayed at the front of his entry.
Left : A triumph that is a Triumph. Reserve in
the Premier class, just behind the Alvis that
i
went on to take Best in Show, Jm Moran's
done -by- himself restoration project
produced this fine example with the deepest
of paint, a sumptious interior, and all the right
touches, including a meticulous engine
compartment.
Best of all, Moran's car is not a garage queen
but is seen at all the club funtions and is
actively driven. Not even a threat of rain
i
dissuades Jm from getting behind the wheel.
He keeps a plastic tarp in the boot to cover up
if things get stormy and he cleans behind his
wire wheels , where no one would ever see,
before a car show.
Why? Because Jm Moran knows what must
i
be done to be a standout.
